Typically, traditional wedding photography is based around providing a series of photographs that are staged throughout the day. The photographs include posed 'set ups' of events throughout the wedding day and lots of group photographs at the different venues.

With reportage, the photographer aims to be a fly on the wall and document your wedding day as it really happens. It concentrates more on the spontaneous and emotional moments that happen naturally throughout the day. The aim is to provide an album that captures the essence and tells the story of your wedding day.

While specialising in the reportage approach I understand that there is also a need to take some formal photographs. Group photographs can be an essential part of the day but should not take the majority of the day. With this in mind I ask for a list of the groups prior to the wedding and that you nominate a person familiar with the family and guests to organise them. A little bit of organisation before the event ensures that the formal photographs are taken quickly and with the best results.

This is no longer a problem as I shoot using digital, but when it comes to digitally processing them I will always discuss this and other details at a pre-wedding consultation. Some people prefer the whole album in black & white and others prefer a mixture of both. After discussing with you I will be able to judge the percentage required.

Most definitely not! If you book me to photograph your wedding it will be me who photographs your day. I do not outsource any work to other photographers. I occasionally use an assistant if the job requires it.

The first thing to do is to look through the wedding photography portfolio section of the website to be sure that you like the style of photography. If you are interested then I would recommend that you contact me to arrange a meeting to look at some albums of previous work. I pride myself on professionalism and offering a personal service. I understand the importance of such an occasion and that you should choose the right photographer for you.

Yes. Although reasonable travel charges will apply if outside of Southern England. Please contact me for exact charges.

You should firstly call or email to check availability for your wedding day. If you want to proceed I can hold your booking for seven days to give you time to return the signed contract and deposit cheque.

I can recommend reliable photographers who shoot in a similar style.
